Screenshots for slides. Polished, readable, consistent.

A raw screenshot dropped on a slide looks like an afterthought. Frame it, give it room and keep the same style on every slide, and your demo deck looks designed.

Made for sharing

Ready-made 16:9, square and portrait canvases for posts, slides and docs, with crisp PNG output.

How to prepare screenshots for a presentation

  1. Capture big, crop tight. Zoom the app or web page to 125–150% before you take the screenshot, so text stays readable on a projector, and capture only the part you'll talk about.
  2. Paste the screenshot here (Ctrl+V or ⌘V) or drop the file.
  3. Pick a window frame: Browser for web apps (type a clean URL in the address bar field), macOS or Windows for desktop apps. Choose Light or Dark to match your slide theme.
  4. Choose the size:
    • 16:9 (1600×900) when the screenshot fills a whole slide. This page starts there.
    • Fit screenshot with the checkered None background when the image sits next to text or on a colored slide. The PNG keeps transparency around the window and its shadow.
  5. Click Download PNG, or Copy image where your browser supports it, and paste straight into PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote.

Screenshot beautifier FAQ

Should I use PNG or JPG screenshots in slides?

PNG. It keeps text and interface edges crisp and supports transparency. LapwingShot always exports PNG.

Is 1600×900 big enough for a full-screen slide?

For most projectors, screen shares and video calls, yes. For a very large or 4K display, use Fit screenshot with a large original, which keeps your screenshot's own pixels up to 4096 px.

Can I paste the result straight into PowerPoint or Google Slides?

Where your browser supports it, Copy image puts the finished PNG on your clipboard and you paste it with Ctrl+V or ⌘V. Otherwise download the PNG and insert it as a picture.

Is it free?

Yes. Every background, frame and canvas size is free with no signup. Free exports carry a small "Made with LapwingShot" credit in the corner. The credit is part of the free tier. A future Pro option may remove it.

Are my screenshots uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser. The only things ever sent are cookie-free visit counts (Cloudflare Web Analytics, see Privacy), anonymous counts of a few button actions (for example, 'a framed PNG was downloaded'; each count is only the action name, the app name and the app version, and the full list is on the Privacy page), and an anonymous error report if something breaks (error text, browser, page, app version). Never anything you type or upload. Button counts are skipped if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.

How do I paste a screenshot?

Copy a screenshot to your clipboard (for example with Windows+Shift+S or ⌘+Ctrl+Shift+4 on a Mac), click anywhere on this page and press Ctrl+V or ⌘V.

Can I get a transparent background?

Yes. Choose the checkered "None" background. The PNG keeps transparency around the window and its shadow.

What resolution is the export?

With "Fit screenshot" the export keeps your screenshot's own pixels (up to 4096 px on the longest side). Fixed canvases export at their listed size.

Which canvas size should I use?

16:9 suits X posts, slides and YouTube thumbnails. 1:1 suits Instagram and LinkedIn feeds. 4:5 takes up the most room in an Instagram feed.
